I am Michael Boyd. A native of Roanoke Rapids, NC. May 2021, I became a graduate of Elon University where I received my Master of Arts degree in Interactive Media & December 2018, I became a proud graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism & Mass Communication with a concentration in Mass Media Productions. While attending North Carolina A&T, I pursued various endeavors that allowed me to network with many people. I was involved in the school news show, Aggie News & Views, where I served as a reporter & editor. I also became a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.

I served as an intern at World Victory International Christian Center in Greensboro, NC, where I serve on the media team. After graduating, I ventured out into a career in education. I became a 6th and 8th-grade teacher. The opportunity to empower young, developing minds was quite an enriching experience. While teaching math, I had the privilege of establishing a journalism club where students gained experience with writing, filming, and editing for school events.

In my community, I served as the 2016 – 2017 Youth President of the Quankey Missionary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC. I have done numerous volunteer work, such as working with the Boys & the Girls Club of Halifax County, Halifax Community College Library Assistant Enfield Middle Beta Club Volunteer & much more. Being able to be a part of these different organizations and volunteering at these various sites has allowed me to grow as an individual and to better myself for the next endeavor I will pursue in my career.

Creativity doesn't stop at good; it's okay

to make it better till it becomes our best
